We are really looking forward to seeing you and all of the children next Monday 8th March. This letter is to make you aware of some changes to the teacher deployment from Term 4 due to current restrictions.
In Reception, as you are aware, Mrs Hunt is due to go on maternity leave from Term 5 and we are delighted that Miss Coutinho will be covering her maternity leave. Due to current circumstances and concerns around Covid-19, guidelines recommend that pregnant teachers work from home. For the rest of Term 4, Miss State and Mrs Reardon (previously a teacher at Oaks and currently Director of Improvement for Leighs Academies Trust) will be teaching in Reception class. Mrs Hunt will continue to meet with the staff and assess the progress of children to therefore continue planning for them. This will also include live lessons to the class.
Miss Brandon (currently in Year 3), will temporarily join Year 1/2 bubble.
Miss Dunn will continue to teach in Year 4. Mrs Bennoson will temporarily join the Year 5/6 bubble.
As per Government guidelines, PE will continue. Whenever possible, PE lessons will take place outdoors with Mrs Palmer ensuring social distancing is adhered to as much as possible.
We also welcome Mrs Featherstone to our team at Oaks. Mrs Featherstone joins us as our new SENCO and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in a teaching, leadership and SEN capacity. She will be working on site for 2 days per week and we look forward to welcoming her upon Oaks reopening on Monday 8th March. She is really looking forward to making contact with you all in due course over the next term and has shared some tips for the return to school.
Have a lovely weekend and see you next week.
Mrs J Tipple
