Lots of activity from Blackbird Class both online and in the hubs at school!

The last two weeks have seen lots of activity from Blackbird Class both online and in the hubs at school.

We have continued our inquiry into celebrations and traditions in different communities around the world by looking at our community. The children have ventured out on walks to explore their community and found out more about the jobs and buildings around them. Year 2 have also explored how fantastically diverse the world is and have also written some brilliant poems about diversity. Some used rhyming words whereas others simply wrote their thoughts and feelings. They were really lovely to read.

In Science, Blackbirds have started a new topic all about plants. They have collected flowers from outside, drawn pictures of trees and taken bark rubbings. Bright and colourful posters have also been created by them to explain the importance of seeds and bulbs. In Maths, we have ventured into multiplication and we’ve seen some fantastic descriptions in our Flash Fiction work.
