On Thursday 1st February 2018 Oaks Primary Academy choir will be taking part in Young Voices 2018 at the O2 arena in London. We will join with other primary school choirs from around the country to put on an amazing concert for family and friends. We have lots of songs to learn and will be practising hard every Monday after school.
We have heard from Young Voices that they are removing the songs and dance videos from YouTube. Instead they will all be available on the Young Voices website:

On Thursday 1st February, Oaks Primary Academy choir took part in the Young Voices concert at the London O2 Arena. We had been practising the songs for months and were very excited when the concert day finally arrived! The afternoon was spent rehearsing the songs and dances with hundreds of choirs from other schools.
After a break for tea, the performance began. We were excited that some of our parents and families were in the audience to see us perform as one amazing choir, with over 7,000 other children. It was such an exciting day, some of us even carried on singing for the whole journey home!
We can’t wait for Young Voices 2019!
In January, Oaks Primary Academy choir are taking part in the Young Voices concert at the O2 arena in London. Our choir will be singing with thousands of children from schools around the country. As you can imagine we are all very excited!
We are busy learning the words and practicing the songs and dance moves at the moment. There is lots to learn and one of the songs even has a verse in Welsh, which is quite tricky to learn! Our favourite song at the moment is the Pop Medley.
This term, the children have been working very hard practicing for the the Concert.
Good teaching is allowing pupils to make up for previous gaps in their learning. Pupils have good attitudes to learning because teachers plan activities which maintain pupils interest and enthusiasm. Pupils are proud of their work and this is reflected in their books, which are very neatly presented.Ofsted
The academy provides well for pupils of all abilities. The most able pupils are given work which is at the right level and are encouraged to do as well as they can and so they make good progress.Ofsted
Pupils enjoy reading and use the well-stocked library to choose a different book each week. Daily reading sessions, together with well-taught phonics (the sounds that letters make) help to secure pupils good achievement in reading.Ofsted
